Jail visit

Well, we arrived at the jail this morning and Pflug refused to see us. I wrote a quick note and we were on our way. We had taken a Bible for him and the officer said she would hand deliver both to him. I left the jail feeling sorry for him. Reform doesn't seem to be on his horizon. From what we gathered, his attitude is the same if not worse than when the accident occured. We can't say we didn't try and I feel good about what we did. Thanks for your prayers. We appreciate all of them! I feel like a huge burden has been lifted. I've done what I can do! The rest is up to God.

You all are a lot stronger than John and I ever would be. I don't think we would ever be able to go the jail in your position..I'm proud of you both.

I am very proud of what you did today. You are so right It Is In God's Hands Now.
Congrats on your little "angel" bundle of joy.

You never know in what way God will use your note and the Bible in Pflug's life (is that really his name?) His heart may begin to soften to the Lord because of your willingness to forgive and care enough to give him the Bible. We never do know what the Lord is doing, but we know that (as my little 3 year old is learning in AWANA at church in her memory verses) Romans 3:23 "...all have sinned" & Rom. 5:8 "...while we were sinners, Christ died for us." As she would recite these verses to me, it gave me a renewed perspective on the amazing thing that Christ did...he had NO sin...and he died for ALL of us that ALL had sin...he wanted us to be FREE from it!
we think of ya'll often and love to get your updates on the blog. thanks so much! we're praying for you guys and are really excited about your new little girl...we were wondering if you had picked out her name yet :)
love,

Good job. You make me mad though. Now I really don't have any excuses for witholding forgiveness when I look at your example! lol

I'll message you on myspace with a little more.

You and Nate did a very loving thing. You never know how God will use the note or the bible. Hugs to you...

Maria (and Nate too) - I'm so proud of you. That took a lot of courage. You did what was right and like you said, it's in God's hands now. Hope to see you soon!
